Something tells me a few of the sales of this won’t be for its intended purpose… link
I guess Ed can’t move. So I’m staying put here for the time being. Which is good, cuz I hate moving, even if it’s only across the parking lot. I am on the priority list, however, so when Joe sells his mom’s house if we decide to move in together we’ll be able to get a 2br easily.
That’s about all I’ve got right now. I saw Underworld 2 with Joe, which wasn’t as good as the first one.
Work all weekend. Free Panera tomorrow, tho!
Hey if there’s anyone out there who feels guilty about NOT getting me a birthday gift (I mean really, how could you? I’m so good to you throughout the year!) my Flickr PRO account expires in a few days.
(I know, I’m such a mooch!)
Umm… if anyone wants to move into a 2 bedroom with me let me know by Friday.
KALAMAZOO—Gazette News Service—A deadly fire was the scene this afternoon at an apartment complex in Portage. Authorities report the fire was started by a blaze of 27 birthday candles. Paul Pellerito, aged 27 of Portage, died in the fire. Deputy Fire Chief John Podgorski described the scene as “a blistering inferno” and the remains of the apartment as “an empty shell.” No word yet as to whether smoke detectors were functioning in the apartment, but Chief Podgorski reminds everyone to check their smoke detectors. “They really do save lives, and it’s unfortunate that in this case it simply wasn’t enough.”

3 hours in to my 27th year. I think this is my only real present this year, aside from the $100 check from my dad, which will cover renewing my license plate… for my fucked up car…
Twenty-seven. I still haven’t said that out loud.

Well. It seems after three long years I’ve found someone who fits with me. Of course it’s not perfect, he lives 136 miles away and we’re both broke. But we’re in love! Isn’t that great? This is Aaron, and he’s my boyfriend.
Cool thing Aaron said on Saturday as we were driving around Royal Oak: “If you had a motorcycle I’d ride on the back of it with you.” Couldn’t you just die? Isn’t that SO CUTE?
More car trouble. This time all the electronics don’t work. At. All. So Aaron and I are stranded. I was supposed to take him home tonight after work, but I have no car, so I have no idea how that’s going to work. And I took a personal day today.

I think this is one of my favorite pictures I’ve ever taken. The bulleted list of features is stupendous!
Here it is Saturday and I’m in… you guessed it, (fucking) Detroit. We’ll be heading back to Kalamazoo tonight or tomorrow sometime. OMFG I just said “we”. (Not Wii, Joe.) I guess that’s saying something.
Monday night, against my better judgement, I came out to DTX to see Aaron. Ended up staying Tuesday, met his mom, hung out, had noodles, saw V for Vendetta, then came back Wednesday morning.
Got rid of $16,000 worth of excess inventory at work.
Thursday night went out with Ed and some girl he works with at Panera. Friday morning we applied for a 2 bedroom at my complex. Monday we’ll know for sure. Then I’ll be saving $200+ a month. Last night I drove out here. I94 at night is the best. Just me and the trucks.
Today Aaron and I are going to Ann Arbor to hang out, probably see Brad. Then off to Kalamazoo. We’re together until Wednesday. Exciting!

What a hell of a weekend. Here’s what happened:
Friday Eric and I left around 11am and arrived in Indianapolis to begin his apartment hunting. Our first stop was The Villages of Bent Tree on the north end. We went into the rental office and the (kinda cute) leasing agent said “Hi, I’m Ryan. Have a seat and I’ll be right with you.” I remarked to Eric, “I think he’s a sister…” and sure enough… he was! He was also very interested in Eric and even offered to set him up with an interview with the company that does resident care for some of the developmentally disabled people who live in the complex—as this is Eric’s current line of work. So the joke was that Eric found a job, a boyfriend, and a place to live all in one stop.
We only got to see 2 more apartment complexes, both of which were not as nice. One we didn’t even bother to view because it looked really ghetto. You can tell the kind of people who live in a complex by the sorts of cars that are parked in the lot, and there wasn’t a car from this decade or maybe even the last… so we said no way and headed south to another place that wasn’t as nice as Bent Tree, either.
Then it was around 5pm and we met up with Zac (after getting just a little lost in Downtown Indianapolis) and Eric promptly had to be taken to the liquor store. He bought a fifth of Apple Pucker, a fifth of Triple Sec, and Zac bought 1/2 gallon of vodka. Let the games begin.
I don’t remember what time we decided to go to OP’s (Greg’s) but we sure closed that place down and had a good time. Upon entering Eric saw only the first room and remarked it was small, I quickly gave him a tour of all four rooms and the outside alley and he changed his mind.
Zac’s friend Tim showed up probably around 1am. Then we all got lost and had an adventure trying to find each other. At one point I got tired of looking for people and ended up just dancing for about half an hour. After closing time we were all pretty hungry and we stopped at White Castle for a crave case of cheeseburgers that would end up sustaining us for the next three days.
After the bar Eric pretty much passed out and Tim, Zac, and I stayed up until the wee hours chatting about Zac’s future and how he’s been let down by Lilly, how he’ll need another 6 years of school to get a PhD so he can do drug design. He doesn’t want to do that much more school, so his world is kind of shattered. Sucks. Happens to us all I guess tho.
Saturday we slept kinda late and missed the Pride parade but went down to the celebration around 2, got our drink tickets, walked the booths, braved the rain and anxiously waited for RuPaul to take the stage.
RuPaul was fabulous. Tim got trashed.
We went to English Ivy’s for dinner. My pizza was overdone so it was free, and Eric’s wasn’t that great. I don’t think I’d eat there again. Tim was completely trashed and tragic, and caused somewhat of a scene. He confessed to us how much he liked Eric—”I like you. I mean I like you… if you lived here I’d want to take you on a date…” etc. We then drove past the Talbot Street club and saw the line was out the door and down the block, and we’d been standing in the rain all day so we decided against going there and went to The Metro instead, which is probably the place I’d go the most if I lived in Indianapolis.
Tim caused another scene on the way there and whilst we were there as he wanted to go to Talbot… Zac was pissed. We went home and Tim caused even more drama, to the point where Eric, Zac, and I just locked ourselves in Zac’s room and went to sleep, as we were all tired. Zac was supposed to take Tim to the airport as he moved to Idaho for some ski resort job, but instead Tim called a cab for that morning. He was so wasted and mad and accusing Zac of doing this or that a wrong to him. It was really quite ridiculous.
Sunday we slept rather late, went to the mall, then showed back up at the Metro for the T-Dance. Zac and Eric kept buying me drinks ($3 Bloody Marys and Long Islands) so by 7pm when Eric decided he wanted to leave I was feeling pretty good.
We got lost on the way out of town; went the wrong way on 70 or something, so I had to convince Eric we were going the wrong way and to turn around. Once we were back on track we found a Denny’s, ate our first and only real meal of the day, and headed north toward home.
We rolled in to Kalamazoo around 12:30am and went to Metro Kalamazoo and the joke was we’d driven from Metro to Metro. By 1:30 we left since Eric and I were both completely tired.
Today was amazingly fine, but I’ve decided I don’t have much party left in me. Hurray for mostly free weekend, tho. Hurray.
I had quite the weekend.
I have an active call off for work tomorrow, but I might go. There were so many good things that happened this weekend but some bad things that I found out. I might have to work it off tomorrow just to cope.
I saw RuPaul LIVE in concert, and she was FABULOUS! ORCHID!
And.. well, some bad news too. And some drama. And I’m pretty sure that Aaron is my boyfriend since I miss him so much.
Pride is an awesome experience, I’ve loved going to pride events since I came out. I really feel recharged and ready for another full year of being gay.
And we drank a lot, which is the official gay sport.
and…
ACT UP
FIGHT AIDS
Let’s see… whirlwind week! Aaron came over from DTX (fucking detroit) on Sunday night, we visited Metro and then I gave him a mini tour of things in Kalamazoo I love that are open after midnight. Monday night we hung with Joe and got Bilbo’s after I dropped off some speakers at BV’s place… then Joe left and we talked long and hard about stuff… this boy’s really into me! And I’m really into him! Sadly, he left Tuesday night. Wednesday morning I finally got my car back, and it’s like brand new! That night I went back to Metro to meet Patrick then came home and chatted with Aaron on AIM. Yesterday I just worked, doing cycle return stuff, etc, then came home and chatted on AIM.
Right now I’m waiting for Eric to show up and we’re off to Indianapolis for Pride and so he can check out Indy. We’re staying with Zac and I’m excited to see him again. Should be a great weekend, as long as I don’t miss Aaron too much.
I won’t have my iBook but I’m taking my camera, so pictures will be up on my flickr on Sunday.
You and I in a little toy shop
Buy a bag of balloons
With the money we’ve got
Set them free at the break of dawn
‘Til one by one, they were gone
Back at base, bugs in the software
Flash the message
“Something’s out there”
Floating in the summer sky
99 red balloons go by
99 red balloons
Floating in the summer sky
Panic bells, it’s red alert
There’s something here
From somewhere else
The war machine springs to life
Opens up one eager eye
Focusing it on the sky
Where 99 red balloons go by
99 Decision Street
99 ministers meet
To worry, worry, super-scurry
Call the troops out in a hurry
This is what we’ve waited for
This is it boys, this is war
The president is on the line
As 99 red balloons go by
99 Knights of the airway
Ride super-high-tech jet fighters
Everyone’s a Superhero
Everyone’s a Captain Kirk
With orders to identify
To clarify and classify
Scramble in the summer sky
As 99 red balloons go by
As 99 red balloons go by
99 dreams I have had
In every one a red balloon
It’s all over and I’m standin’ pretty
In this dust that was a city
If I could find a souvenier
Just to prove the world was here
And here is a red balloon
I think of you and let it go
